We are hereby informing our customers that Groove Solventless (“Groove”) has been directed by the Cannabis Control Division (“CCD”) to recall batches of unconsumed Groove Solventless Bubble Hash Infused Pre-Rolls that were tested between August 20, 2024 and January 3, 2025.
This recall directive has been made by the CCD due to the fact that the testing protocols adopted by the CCD commencing on August 20, 2024 were mistakenly not adopted by Groove. The new testing rule requires infused pre-rolls to no longer be tested in Final Form as was the case prior to August 20, 2024, but rather the new rule requires the inputs of infused pre-rolls to be tested separately — testing each base component prior to getting a final ‘potency’ test on the final-form infused pre-rolls.
It should be noted that the final form of the products in question were tested with ‘Full-Compliance’ in regards to the testing requirements that existed prior to August 20, 2024. Groove, as well as its testing company Fidelity Diagnostics, do not believe that the product contains any known harmful contaminants. The full list of impacted products, and the related Full-Compliance test results, can be found here. As can be seen from the Full-Compliance test results, no harmful substances, or contaminants, were found in these products, and applying the the testing standard that existed prior to August 20, 2024, are safe to consume.
It should also be noted that the CCD is allowing products to remain on the shelf that were tested prior to August 2024 using the then approved protocols. It is our assumption that if the CCD felt there was an immediate health risk with the pre-August testing protocol, they would require these products to be recalled as well, which has not been done.
Regardless of the above, due to the fact that Groove was using a testing protocol that was outdated as of August 20, 2024, the CCD requires a recall.
Please return any unconsumed product to the point of purchase and a replacement product, using the new testing protocol, will be provided. We apologize again for the inconvenience.
