Wholesale Representative (Job Description)



Location: Missoula, MT

Position: Wholesale Representative

Time Requirements: Full-Time

Compensation: This position will receive a base annual salary, pending experience, payable in 26 bi-weekly installments plus sales commissions based on performance. This position with  Groove Solventless is a salaried exempt.

Professional Responsibilities | Applicants will assume duties associated with the position of Wholesale Representative. These duties will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

  • Work with ownership,  management and marketing to develop wholesale distribution strategy – establishing desired geographic target areas and associated target retail partners.
  • Maintain accurate and current account records, track opportunities, and follow sales leads.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for wholesale sales inquiries from referrals, email, cold calls, or other sources
  • Establish strong working relationships with key third-party retail decision makers to achieve excitement and activation within partner stores.
  • Work with retail partners to ensure sufficient inventory and product variety.
  • Work with the production, packaging and distribution team to coordinate third-party order placement and fulfillment.
  • Work with third-party retail partners to activate new store launches, expansions, product drops, etc.
  • Educate Buyers and Budtenders about the key aspects of product offerings.
  • Conduct in-store and online education meetings for Buyers and Budtenders that highlight products.
  • Work with the marketing team to plan, develop and implement sales floor displays to ensure products are visible and prominently displayed with each of our retail partners.
  • Work with management and accounting functions to analyze store performance and store incentive programs to recommend changes that will drive top line growth.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop merchandise and other promotional items to be utilized within the third-party retail network and sponsorship activity.
  • Monitor and address quality control and standard conformance for discrepancies and inconsistencies of Groove products on line – ensuring descriptions, pictures and general information is accurate, informative and consistent.
  • Assist with marketing efforts for house brands, partners & affiliates to ensure strong sales for all products across all markets and retail channels. 

 Skills | Professional skill requirements include:

  • Self-starter and motivated to achieve goals and outperform expectations
  • Curious and enthusiastic about solventless cannabis products and changing industry
  • Ability to conduct light lifting (50-75 pounds)
  • Ability to track, present, and report progress to management
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years sales experience in cannabis business-to-business or a related field such as alcohol, medical sales, specialized grocery or similar setting.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Business Suite
  • Willingness to travel overnight 6-8 days per month
  • Ability to pass a criminal and financial background check 
  • Valid Driver’s License
